The Legislative and Judicial Committee of PLTA is on the front line advocating for the passage of important bills. For example,
the current Mechanics' Lien, Mortgage Satisfaction and Deed Registration
laws were the products of this committee.

HR 1073 Passes and moved to The Legislative Budget and Finance Committee in 2017
On October 27, 2016 the House of Representatives voted in favor of HR 1073; the vote was 184 - 1. The resolution reads: "A Resolution directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the scope of records maintained and fees collected by the county recorder of deeds offices in this Commonwealth and to make recommendations." The Legislative Budget and Finance Committee will be reaching out to stakeholders in the early part of 2017 before commencing their study which is estimated to take several months.
