President's Message

A Message From the President

Dear Members:

Thank you for saying "yes” to the Pennsylvania Land Title Association! You are part of an industry whose professionals consistently prove to be hardworking, dedicated, resourceful, and flexible. And, what I admire most about our members is the willingness to freely share ideas and expertise with colleagues and competitors.

The camaraderie and sharing is no better evident than when we gather together to educate, celebrate, and honor those who have given selflessly of their time and talents. We are just returning from a rewarding conference at the 92nd annual PLTA convention and your Association through its officers, staff, and volunteers are not missing a beat in continuing the good works of the PLTA.

A special thank you goes out to Jan Koski Hogan, CLTP for serving as President of the PLTA this past year and for hosting a wonderful time on the banks of the Chesapeake. It was a special moment for me to be sworn in as your President and we are fortunate to welcome Brian Zulli, Esq. as our Secretary as he joins John Croke, CLTP our Treasurer and Kristina Burns our Vice-President. We are all looking forward to serving you.

A New Beginning for Agent Members

Whether our members were hitting the links, jet-skiing, site-seeing, or enjoying a service at the spa, we made time for fun and insightful education. You know in this business you learn something new every day so you are never too experienced to attend the educational sessions. And in between the fun festivities and earning credits, we made history! The Executive Committee of the PLTA unanimously voted to approve the addition of an Agent’s Section. There is no question that agents and underwriters have always worked harmoniously together in fulfilling the needs of our members. The only difference now is that our member-agents have a vote at the table. I congratulate and thank each and every underwriter on the Executive Committee for joining with the agents in making the Agent’s Section a reality.

PLTA Honors

The last evening of the convention saw our members trading in their golf and resort attire for a more elegant look. Title people really clean-up nicely! If you were in attendance in the Choptank Ballroom at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina you experienced your Association’s long-standing tradition of recognizing those members who have provided exceptional service to the Association. The recipients of our two prestigious awards are outstanding professionals. Please join me in congratulating past-president Adrienne Verdone, Esq., CLTP recipient of the James G. Schmidt Distinguished Service Award and Donna Moyer, ALTP and Stacey Trimmer recipients of the Albert E. Pentecost Award on behalf of the South Central Chapter. Please give a high-five to these devoted volunteers the next time you cross paths. Why not start planning your outfit for next year!

Knowledge is power, service rewarding. At the PLTA we are proud of our newly pinned professional designees: Deb Chipman, CLTP, Frank McGovern, Esq., CLTP, Donna Moyer, ALTP, and Lisa Peters, CLTP.

Will you be the next Associate Land Title Professional or Certified Land Title Professional? Learn more by visiting the members tab at or contact the PLTA office at 610-265-5980.

Let’s get started

A "new” year begins at the PLTA and as your president, my goals are distinct and it is my promise that our volunteers and staff will:

Communicate with you

Advocate in the best interest of you

Add value

Respond to your needs

Educate you

Establish good policy in our actions

You are our best resources in all 67 counties of Pennsylvania. Please let us know how we may serve you. And, of most importance, it is time to tell everyone that as an industry: We matter!

It is without question that I am honored to serve as your President and look forward to seeing you throughout the coming year. All my best and as a member of the PLTA, you matter!

Francine D’Elia Wirsching, CLTP
